Delhi, Lisa's Chill Out

16th September- 28th September 2004.

We spent a lovely lovely time with Lisa in West Delhi. It doesn't matter where we were really because we hardly left the house for a week and when we did, we had a Chauffeur to drive us around.

Meet Sandhya, Lisa and Vinod.

Our friend from England (Lisa), has been working in Delhi for two years and is about to move back to London.  She kindly offered to let us slouch around her house.  We were spoiled rotten, while we made Indian travels plans and tried to remove the emotional scarring from China.

Sandhya is Lisa's maid who makes a mean Chai tea latte, cauliflower cheese and curry.

Vinod is Lisa's driver who seems to be the only man in India who doesn't honk, brake and swerve incessantly.

Did we mention there is a pool? Claire dragged Jason to the pool. Jason could be seen doing his daily (one) length, before he realised how unfit he was.

The birthday girl enjoying birthday luxuries like marmite and fruit.

Lisa (trying to give Jason tips on how to make girlfriend happy) adorned flowers all over the flat for Claire's birthday.

We then got dressed up for a smart evening in Delhi.  We had a gorgeous swanky Indian meal and a few wines.

It was a lovely evening, and Jason even pretends to be coping with two very chatty girls. The miracle of birthdays.

Look at what a great time Jason is having!

He can't wait till next year.

We have been living in Sushant Lok and despite pleas to keep it clean, everyone seems to throw rubbish where ever they want.

The empty lot on the other side of the apartment block seems to have sprouted a refugee camp of its own.

The camp is next to the dirt track that doubles as a cricket pitch.

When we did venture out, we got hounded because we were in a posh part of town and we looked rich.

But.... the people are so cool and so friendly. We already feel like this India is going to be ace!

He we are on television!  After our visit to Agra we came back to Delhi and found ourselves on TV!  Cool.

Here we are infront of the Taj Mahal doing tourist stuff and drawing down on our 15 minutes of fame. It appears to be the 350 th year the Taj has existed, so every man and his dog should be there next week.
