Hikkaduwa was our last beach stop. It was a chance for us to unwind before coming home and to try and catch-up on some sleep.
We managed to stay in this very beautiful resort. It was particularly low in price because there were hardly any tourists.
Lots of the buildings were still destroyed along the beach and only some were in operation.
The Tsunami has created an unusual weather pattern that brought many waves on the beach, flooding it. There was much heated debate about whether or not the monsoon was arriving over a month early.

... but the waves were huge, crashing on the beach making it impossible for a swim.
The storm off shore meant that the visibility was too murky for diving.
Surfers enjoyed the waves and we had excellent sunsets.
We took a walk along the beach every evening.
The sun would disappear into the water.
Our last day on the beach as we make our way home via Bangkok.
